London · local guide
Bromley is London’s largest borough by area, and much of it feels more like Kent than the capital: wide suburban streets, village centres and, in the south, open countryside around Biggin Hill.

Bromley households tend to own more cars than in inner London, and more of them are parked on drives. That makes collection simple across most of the borough, from Beckenham and West Wickham to Petts Wood and Orpington.
The A21 runs south through Bromley town towards the M25, and the A232 crosses the borough east to west. Junction 4 of the M25 sits just beyond Orpington, near Badgers Mount.
Below Orpington, Bromley becomes Green Belt countryside, with Biggin Hill, Downe and Cudham reached by narrow lanes. Collection is just as free here as in the town centre. Directions, and a note about lane width or steep hills, help the driver plan.
Bromley sits on the outer edge of the ULEZ, so a non-compliant car is charged as soon as it is driven within the borough. For owners who mostly drive out into Kent, it can still be worth checking how often the car crosses into London before deciding.
